The High Court in Andalucia has ordered the Town Hall of Estepona to compensate property owners in the port area for loss of rental income. The owners had sued the Town Hall due to excessive noise produced by bars in Estepona Port. The case was originally brought against the Town Hall, by a group of residents, in 2008. It has taken more the seven years to finally get a decision after the Town Hall rejected the original claim.
Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for the Town Hall to use the fact that, justice is an extremely slow and expensive process in Spain, to try to deter residents from making legitimate claims.
